If shopping for children, avoid plastics for their health and the planet. Instead get a cloth doll, a Slinky, metal toy cars, Lincoln Logs or wooden blocks, card and table games. You can buy "consumables” (household or personal care products) from sites like Grove Collaborative, or gourmet foods from Misfits (mail order for rescued and upcycled foods).
