Join Dare to Care Tucson Community Coalition, a coalition to stand in solidarity with LGBTQ teens, young adults, and their families - committing to safe and supportive emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual care despite future anti-gay legislation passed within Arizona.

Dare to Care Event

Organized by a group of United Methodists, Dare to Care hosted three events to support the LGBTQIA+ community and hosted our first group conversation to further discuss ways this Coalition might best support LGBTQIA+ youth, families, and professionals working with them.

Our Beginnings

Our Conversation

Our conversation focused on three areas of action:

  1. Supporting local LGBTQIA+ activists and organizations,

  2. Education within our community and

  3. Political activism and advocacy.

Our conversations were meaningful and they reiterated what we learned from our informative panel speakers: the obstacles and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth and their advocates are complex and multifaceted.

Therefore, the mission of this Coalition is to unite our community toward supporting the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of gay and trans youth.

What’s Next?

Our efforts will focus on sharing information about the work being done at the local and federal levels. There are a variety of ways you can get involved:

  • share efforts where financial support is needed.

  • communicate opportunities and events where you can get involved.

  • mobilize participation with legislation alliances and advocacy in Phoenix.

We will always honor the commitment and work that so many of you have already put forth and our intention is only to build bridges and create stronger alliances within the greater community.
